Sign a PDF online, free

Open a PDF, draw or type your signature, drag it where it goes and download the signed file. It all happens in your browser: the PDF is never uploaded.

Private by design: your PDF is opened and signed on this device and never sent to a server.

How to sign a PDF without printing it

Upload the PDF, create your signature once (draw it with a mouse or finger, or type your name), drop it on the signature line and download. A drawn or typed signature on a PDF is a simple electronic signature: in the US (ESIGN Act), the EU (eIDAS) and the UK it's legally valid for most everyday agreements, like freelance contracts, NDAs and quotes. When both parties need to sign and you want proof of who signed and when, use a signing flow with an audit trail instead of emailing PDFs back and forth.

FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes. No signup, no watermark on your pages, no limit on documents. A small line at the bottom of the last page says it was signed with Clinch.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is opened, signed and saved inside your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers, so it also works for confidential documents.

Is a signature added this way legally binding?

For most business documents, yes: laws like the US ESIGN Act and the EU's eIDAS accept electronic signatures. Some documents (wills, certain property deeds) may need a wet or qualified signature.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes. Draw your signature with your finger, drag it onto the page and download the signed PDF.

How do I get someone else to sign the PDF?

Send it with Clinch: the other party gets a link, signs from any device without creating an account, and you both get the signed PDF with a timestamped audit trail.

Getting a client to sign?

Clinch sends contracts that clients sign from their phone in 30 seconds, with an audit trail and the deposit collected at signing.
